Post and Auxiliary meetings:

**No Post or Auxiliary meetings in July and August. The next meetings will be Thursday, September 21. 6:30 pm at Vistoso Memorial Chapel, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley.

Riders Chapter 132 membership meeting:

Auxiliary Unit donation of supplies to Tucson Housing First:

June 14, Flag Day:

Post 132 performed the formal unserviceable flag retirement ceremony, concluding with the dignified and respectful burning of the ceremonial flag, following the Flag Day ceremony conducted by the Catalina Elks at the Vistoso Funeral Home and Memorial Chapel. Twelve members of the Post’s color guard participated. Post commander Dan McGregor presented Doug Harpold, General Manager of the Funeral Home and Chapel, and members of his staff, with a certificate of appreciation for the many years of generous support of Post 132 and its programs.

New Tucson VA outpatient pharmacy hours. Now open Saturday:

Monday through Friday: 8:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Access to the Tucson VA Outpatient Pharmacy on Saturdays will be through the Building 50 north entrance and patients can park in Parking Lot K.

June 15 Post membership meeting:

The official installation of the Post officers for the 2023-2024 leadership year was conducted by Steve Sperl, Department of Arizona Commander. Post 132 has assembled a set of dedicated and caring officers year after year. We have many new officers this year. June 15, member initiation ceremony:

During the Post general membership meeting, eleven members participated in the official American Legion initiation ceremony. The American Legion initiation ceremony is usually reserved for new members of a local Post, but since Post 132 has not performed an initiation ceremony in years, any member of Post 132 who has not already been initiated is welcome to sign up. Initiated members will receive an initiation certificate and an American Legion pin. Honoring and Remembering: Post 132 Honor Guard performed at Memorial Services for the following veterans:

Virgil Gerdes U.S. Air Force; Raymond Kurtze U.S. Navy; Larry Berby U.S. Army. Participation of the Post’s HG is an important and memorable part of the service and is greatly appreciated by the deceased’s family and friends. The team can always use more members. Post covers the cost of the uniform and equipment.

Back-to-school backpack with basic supplies.

We support military kids:

Post and Auxiliary Unit 132 combined to donate $1100 to the Arizona Heroes to Hometowns’ backpack for military kids program. The backpacks, filled with back-to-school supplies, were distributed to the children of our “adopted” Guard and Reserve soldiers.
