Non-VA Performed Emergency Medical Care:
Information for veterans enrolled in the VA healthcare system. During a medical emergency, immediately seek care at the nearest emergency department (ED). The Veterans’ Primary Care Team should be notified within 72 hours of seeking care at a community emergency care department (ED) or contact the VA 72-Hour Notification Hotline at 1-844-724-7842. Notifying VA of an emergency event allows covered Veterans to have their emergency treatment authorized by the VA. Visit Community Care- Emergency Medical Care website to learn more about the eligibility criteria and additional information.
Honoring and Remembering:
The Post 132 Honor Guard performed at Memorial Services for the following veterans: Michael Stafford, USMC and Jose Mendoza, U.S. Army. Members of the Honor Guard also performed flag folding demonstrations at several locations within the community. The participation of the Post’s HG is an important and memorable part of the service and is greatly appreciated by the deceased’s family and friends.
