Post and Auxiliary meetings:

Thursday, November 21, 6:30 pm at Vistoso Memorial Chapel, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd., Oro Valley. **Special Service**. We will have a Post Everlasting Memorial Service for the 13 Post members who have passed into Post Everlasting since November 2023. See below for a list of their names. The service will end with a rifle salute and the playing of TAPS. Please attend to show your respect. Auxiliary members will join us for the Post Service.

November 21 pre-meeting meal:

A pre-meeting meal will be available from 5:00 pm through 6:00 pm. This month we are having a chili cook-off. As always, a donation of $8.00 per person is appreciated. The winner of the best chili vote will win half of the donations. “ANYONE” can enter the contest. Please have your chili at the meeting location by 4:45 pm. All are welcome to attend the pre-meeting chili feast, including family members.

Get Your Flu Shot at the VA:

If you are enrolled in the VA medical care system, you have many opportunities to get your flu shot at the Tucson main campus SAVAHCS) or at one of the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC). You may get your flu shot during a scheduled appointment at any primary care and specialty clinic and as a walk-in at the immunization clinic in building 80 South, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. All CBOCs will be providing Flu vaccines during regular clinic appointments, can be scheduled by appointment, and will accommodate walk-ins during business hours. If not enrolled in VA medical care, the flu shot is available at locations within the community, including grocery and drug stores. Medicare and other medical insurance plans cover the cost of the flu shot.

October 24, Auxiliary Unit 132 delivers supplies:

Auxiliary Unit members Rosie Gonzales and Ros Walton delivered supplies to the Tucson State Veterans Home to restock the Home’s lounge. The supplies included snacks and beverages, which are a popular social venue.

November 3, food delivery to Tucson VA Patriot Food Pantry:

To help restock the shelves of the Patriot Food Pantry, Post 132 member Dan McGregor and Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron 132 member Bill Madara went shopping. They delivered a truck full of requested food items. The Pantry is a source of food for in-patients at discharge and out-patients, whose needs are identified by a VA social worker.

November 10, Rockin’ 4 Heroes Concert:

A huge and enthusiastic crowd attended the “Rockin’ 4 Heros” concert. The concert was an opportunity for the community to come together to honor our First Responders, Active-Duty Military, Veterans, and Gold Star Families. Members of the Post 132 Legion family staffed a greeting and information table at the concert. Members of the Riders performed many important functions in support of the concert.
