Past Activities and Information:
Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit:
The Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit recently was at the Marana Founders Day event. The purpose of the education exhibit is to teach the next generation about service and sacrifice and to share stories of patriotism and love of country with communities around the country. The exhibit has a special Vietnam War appreciation exhibit. Volunteers staffing the exhibit provided each Vietnam War veteran visiting the exhibit with a welcome home pin and a challenge coin.

More babies on the way: Auxiliary Unit 132 member Rosie Gonzales delivered five packed baby bags to the Western Army Aviation Training Site (WAATS) located at the Silverbell Army National Guard Heliport in Marana. The baby bags will be delivered by the Unit’s command to the expectant soldiers. The Auxiliary Unit has been providing baby bags for 15 years to the soldiers of the many Army National Guard units stationed at the heliport. More than 80 baby bags have been distributed to date.
Meeting with U.S. Congressional District 6 Representative Ciscomani:
Members of the Post’s family entity leadership teams met with Juan Ciscomani, the U.S. Congressional District 6 Representative. It was an excellent opportunity to convey to Representative Ciscomani, the American Legion’s legislative priorities and to describe the Post’s many award-winning programs.
Save the date. The 14th Annual Post 132 Golf Tournament:
Fundraising is a necessary and vitally important activity which allows us to fund our award-winning programs. To help us carry on our mission of care and assistance, we are sponsoring our 14th annual golf tournament, August 26, at the SaddleBrooke Preserve Golf Club. Help spread the word. The proceeds are used to fund our nationally acclaimed programs which benefit local veterans and service members in need, the youth of our community, and which help promote traditional American values. Quote: “The American Legion Oro Valley Post 132 has been a steadfast ray of hope to our less fortunate veterans by providing care and assistance when most needed”. Words spoken by the Chairman of the Tucson Veterans Serving Veterans Alliance. We ARE making a difference. See attached flyer.
