  • March 15-18: “The Wall That Heals’ coming to Oro Valley. The brand new and largest traveling scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC along with a Mobile Education Center, is coming to Oro Valley, AZ. The site will be open 24 hours a day and free to the public. The Wall That Heals bears the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.   • March 23, 1pm: Veterans Survivor and Death Benefits Seminar. Location: Golder Ranch Fire Dept. in Catalina (3885 Golder Ranch Drive)  Free to all veterans and their spouses/next-of-kin. Learn about Death and Survivor Benefits. Presented by members of the American Legion Oro Valley Post 132. It will cover all ceremonial and burial benefits available to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces as well as benefits to which their surviving family members are entitled.   • April 7, 8am – 12noon: Missing In America Project – A Veterans Recovery program. The mission of MIAP is to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed remains of American veterans. To secure a final resting place for these forgotten heroes. Following an 8am brief service and transfer of the urns to a motorcycle pulled hearse at the Avalon Funeral Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave in Oro Valley, a procession of over a hundred motorcyclists will escort the hearse to the AZ State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Marana, AZ (15950 N. Luckett Rd). Open to the public.“MIAP is supported by Veterans Service Organizations and Law Enforcement Agencies. Post and Auxiliary Unit 132 members are active participants in the program including carrying of urns and the reading of the names during the interment service. Rest in peace, your mission is complete”.
  • April 8, 1pm – 3:30pm: Post 132 Picnic for members and their guests. Location: Catalina State Park Oro Valley (at the group picnic area). Food and beverages provided by the Post at no cost to the attendees. All you can eat including pulled pork, hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, beer, wine, soda and desert. The picnic is our way of thanking our members for their loyalty and continued support of our award winning programs. RSVP required. Post and Auxiliary members may bring up to 3 guests each.
